How to Improve Your Spanish Vocabulary Every Day
Build Spanish vocabulary that you can actually use with contextual notes, active recall and a simple daily review plan.

The goal of vocabulary study is not to recognize the longest possible list. It is to find the word when you need it, understand it in context and choose a natural form.
Collect phrases, not just words
Spanish words change meaning through combinations. Learn “tener ganas de”, “dar cuenta de” and “me hace ilusión” as useful units, including a short example of when you would say them.
Make recall slightly difficult
Look at the meaning or situation first and try to produce the Spanish. The small effort before revealing the answer is what strengthens memory.
If a card feels too vague, add a sentence from the story, video or conversation where you first met it.
Turn new vocabulary into output
Use three new phrases in a voice note, a journal entry or a message to your tutor within 24 hours. Production reveals what you can retrieve and what needs another review.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a teacher to make progress?
A teacher can make feedback and conversation more efficient, but steady independent practice is what turns a class into durable progress.
What should I do on busy days?
Keep a smaller version of your routine: one short audio, five flashcards, or a few sentences written from memory still protects consistency.
